Teesdale Fibres Cushion Kits

The Cushion kits in all these beautiful colours are now ready.

The olive and turquoise cushion cover have Gansey designs on them ,The Chocolate coloured Zwartbles wool has an aran design ,the Raspberry cover has a cable design and garter stitch effect and the cream one has garter stick and stocking stitch with a buttoned flap.

Natural wool fibres on cushions is a lovely fabric to cuddle up to. then rest against, giving you a natural warmth to your back.

The fibres are form our area here in the North Pennines and shortly we will be adding Blue Faced Leicester/Shetland mix, new Zwartbles, Texel/Cheviot,Cheviot,and Texel.

The sheep reside in the valley and the coats processed to give us beautiful natural local yarn.

I have just decided on the mix for this years yarn from Teasdale fibres and we can achieve beautiful natural colours by mixing in the Zwartbles with the local Texel giving us varying shade of grey to work with .

Plus our Bluefaced Leicester /Shetland wool mix will give us a great design palette to work with.

New fingerless glove pattern now in at Middleton cafe with the yarn needed in the kit and a lovely triangular scarf to protect against that Pennine wind .

How exciting is this seeing next years knitting so early on on the backs of the new born lambs and what a colour we are in for a treat later on when this is processed.

Beautiful clutch bag knit with yarn held doubled,can be left as a knit clutch bag or felted lightly to show differing textures.The bag is knit with circular needles and the flap is seed stitch whilst the base is garter stitch.This Zwartble yarn from Teesdale fibres comes from high up in the Upper Tees Valley.I can see these sheep from my home there and to see the fleece as yarn and then work with it is so exciting The kit comes gift packed with the magnetic catch and the yarn and pattern at the shop

Zwartbles is going to be our first born yarn and it is so exciting. I designed the ball band yesterday, cannot wait to receive it back from the mill and start swatching like mad.
